1831 Nice Textile and Garment Enterprises

*** There are a total of 1831 textile and garment enterprises in the country, accounting for 33% of the manufacturing enterprises; 851 of which are foreign companies or joint ventures, accounting for 45% of the total textile enterprises; textile and clothing enterprises absorb 175,000 people. The industry’s exports ranked second in the manufacturing industry of Burundi.

90% of the textile companies in the process are completely export-oriented, with 100% sales relying on the international market. The most important markets are France, Italy, Belgium and Germany.
